This is one of several MC 27 I have. These were great simple radios. They only had 6 channels with no meters. They came with a Turner 350 mic and that beautiful chrome case.
This is my favorite model, the Town & Country II. Utica added an S meter, variable tune and an external crystal socket to add any extra channel you choose. This also came with the Turner 350 mic.
The Town & Country III. This came is several models. This one here a a key for a power switch. The knobs are black plastic, with two horizontal S meters. This Turner 350 mic was standard equipment. This radio was 23 channel crystal controlled. NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE ON THE TC III BELOW.
This TC III has chrome knobs. It has the key power switch and horrizontal S meters. Some models have a toggle switch for the power and the large needle face S meters CLICK HERE TO SEE
All radios on this page are from my own collection.
These black MC-27 were made to cut costs. They replaced the relay and some were hard wired in. Some still used the 1/4 phone plug. such as this one. Also notice the TC-s with the special knobs.
later version MC-27
The first Utica
( under restoration )
This black MC-27 is also under restoration. Notice this one has the mic hardwired in and also the channel selecter knob does not have the white marker in the center of the dial.
